1What do I do once my Shrimpie aquarium arrives?

Place the Shrimpie shipping container next to a room temperature bottle of purified or distilled water overnight to equalize their temperatures. NEVER USE TAPWATER because it contains chemicals that will kill your Shrimpies.
Be sure to watch the easy to follow Shrimpie installation video it will explain everything you need to know.
Make sure you follow the installation video’s instructions precisely and you will have many years of enjoyment with your new pets.

Your Shrimpies need their water temperature to be between 65 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
Fluctuation in temperature or going below or above these temperatures is dangerous for your Shrimpies so make sure to place your aquarium away from appliances, fireplaces, direct sunlight or areas that are prone to drafts.

3Is it OK to move my Shrimpie aquarium?

Once you set up your aquarium it is best to leave in place.
Moving the Shrimpie aquarium disrupts the Shrimpies and can cloud the water.
Do not ever shake or vibrate your Shrimpie aquarium.

4Doesn’t the Shrimpie aquarium need a filter system?

We have designed a completely self-sustaining miniature eco system.
The special sand and the decorations provide surface area for the beneficial bacteria in the Shrimpie Biomix that breaks down the waste produced by the Shrimpies.
The live plant provides oxygen and also uses the waste produced by the Shrimpies to further purify the water.

5Do the Shrimpies need to be fed?

They will feed on the biofilm produced by the Shrimpie Biomix and the algae that will grow in your Shrimpie aquarium but they will enjoy some Shrimpie Grub once a week as a treat.
We cannot stress enough to only feed one Shrimpie Grub pellet for every 2 Shrimpies, any more food will pollute their water and kill them.
Do not feed them any food other than Shrimpie Grub.

6Do I need to change the Shrimpie’s water?

Do not change any water!
We included the perfect amount of Shrimpie salt mix with your kit and the Shrimpie aquarium is completely self-sustaining as long as you don’t put too much Shrimpie Grub in their aquarium.

7What do I do if my water becomes cloudy?

Moving your Shrimpie aquarium will temporarily cloud your water, allow the aquarium to sit undisturbed and it will clear on its own in 24-48 hours.

Feeding too much will also pollute the water and will kill your little pets.
Stop feeding Shrimpie Grub for a week or two and the water will clear on its own.
